Reba McEntire’s latest sitcom Happy’s Place will be back on air for Season 2 sometime in 2025, and fans can’t wait.

The country music star is not new to having successful sitcoms, her first being the early aughts program Reba, which she starred in as the title character. Happy’s Place resonates so much with fans because it’s a major Reba reunion. The singer-songwriter, Melissa Peterman, and the producing team from Reba are all working together on Happy’s Place.

There is definitely a connection between Reba and Happy’s Place. Surprisingly, Young Sheldon is also connected to Reba. Reba’s real-life significant other, actor Rex Linn, plays her character’s on-screen love interest in Happy’s Place. Since their fifth anniversary is this week, The Voice star acknowledged their romantic milestone in an Instagram post.

“Rex and I knew each other in 1991 when I was doing The Gambler movie with Kenny Rogers,” Reba told Glamour. “We met then and would see each other throughout the years. And then in 2020, I got a guest spot on Young Sheldon, which he was on, as well as [actor] Melissa Peterman.”

Rex had a recurring role on Young Sheldon as Medford High School principal Tom Petersen for all of its seven seasons. At the beginning of Young Sheldon’s third season, Reba was added to the cast to portray the recurring character June, Dale Ballard’s (Craig T. Nelson) ex-wife and local hairdresser.

The timing couldn’t have been better when Reba and Rex began seeing each other.

“I couldn’t get close enough to Rex when we had dinner January of 2020. We’d been friends,” Reba explained to the news outlet. “I’d seen him like the April before, just friends. Timing’s everything. Everything happens for a reason.”

Even though the two could’ve developed their relationship outside of TV since they’ve been friends for a while, Young Sheldon was instrumental in their pursuit of each other romantically.

While their characters never dated on Young Sheldon, their characters on Happy’s Place are actually romantically linked. On Happy’s Place Bobbie (Reba) finally shared she had feelings for Linn’s Emmett (Rex). Although Rex’s character hasn’t said anything yet, it’s evident something deeper is between them.

Fans have to tune into Season 2 when it premieres to see what unravels between Bobbie and Linn on Happy’s Place.
