Reba McEntire’s Ex-Husband, Narvel Blackstock, Marries Laura Stroud

Narvel Blackstock, Reba McEntire’s former husband and manager, married longtime love, Laura Stroud.

The news of Narvel Blackstock’s nuptials was first revealed by In Touch.The outlet shared that Blackstock has dated Stroud, a former friend of Reba, for awhile. They also shared that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani attended the ceremony, a fact that isn’t a surprise since Narvel is Blake’s longtime manager.

The information was confirmed by Narvel Blackstock’s daughter-in-law, Marissa. Marissa is married to Narvel and Reba’s son, Shelby Blackstock.

Marissa shared video clips and photos of the event, including Narvel and Laura’s first kiss as husband and wife that show Blake Shelton officiating the ceremony.

Another video clip shows a sweet dance between Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock’s children, River Rose and Remy. Brandon is Narvel’s oldest son from a marriage prior to his marriage to Reba.

Narvel Blackstock was married to Reba McEntire for 26 years.

Reba first met Narvel early in her career as part of her band. He later became her manager then, in 1989, her husband. In a recent interview with Drew Barrymore, Reba told the host that their marriage was always business.

“I think it works for some people. They can be married or have a relationship and work together. Our work was all the time,” she said. “Our marriage was 26 years. We started out working together in the band. He was part of the band, and then became my manager, later on then my husband, but it was a situation that was always business — whether we were getting ready in the morning, pillow talk, whatever, but it was business.”

The couple, who share son Shelby, split in 2015, but maintain that their divorce was amicable. A joint statement released at the time of their split read, “Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other. They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so.”

Reba has since found love of her own with actor Rex Linn.

In 1991, Reba crossed paths with her future beau, Rex Linn, on the set of The Gambler Returns: The Luck Of The Draw. Nearly 30 years later the pair reconnected and struck up a friendship that made them inseparable.

Reba McEntire has sung the praises of Linn in numerous interviews, saying that she loves him “with all my heart,” and says that he’s a great supporter of her career.

“We’re just silly, goofy people in our 60s that love life [and] love each other,” she told PEOPLE. “We have fun. We’re dorky, goofy, and we have similar interests in just about everything, so it’s just fun all the time.”
