Kim Kardashian slammed for ‘breaking rules’ amid LA wildfires

Famous faces such as Kim Kardashian have been targeted online for their apparent “entitled” antics.

A number of celebrities were fined for their water usage

Fury has erupted in LA as celebrities including Kim Kardashian have been accused of “breaking the rules” as wildfires rip through the city.

Famous faces such as Kim Kardashian have been targeted online for their apparent “entitled” antics after been accused of squandering water supplies. It comes after water-conserving measures were put in place in 2022.

SIRules mean that residents were restricted to watering their gardens only twice a week and for eight minutes each time. But it is claimed some celebrities have ignored this rule and said they may have wasted vital water resources that could have been used to help fight the devastating wildfires.

Kim, who owns a $60million property in The Oak, was previously hit with a huge fine for overuse at her home. She was fined for using 232,000 gallons of water more than her allowed allocation.

What Fuels the “Entitlement” Narrative?

  1. Wealth Display and Luxury Lifestyle
    • Kim is synonymous with opulence, frequently showcasing her designer wardrobe, private jets, and multi-million-dollar properties on social media. While this appeals to her fanbase, it also invites backlash, particularly during times of global crises when audiences find such displays tone-deaf.
  2. Viral Moments Perceived as Out of Touch
    • One widely criticized moment was her 2020 statement about taking her “closest inner circle” to a private island during the pandemic, which many labeled as insensitive. The now-infamous caption read:
*”After 2 weeks of multiple health screens and asking everyone to quarantine, I surprised my closest inner circle with a trip to a private island where we could pretend things were normal

Other famous faces to be hit with fine over their usage include Sylvester Stallone and Kevin Hart. Despite Kim reportedly installing new water-saving measures following her fine, some have hit out at her antics – along with other celebrities.

A neighbour of Kim’s told the Mail on Sunday: “These celebrities have a sense of entitlement. Everyone was told to cut back on water precisely for this situation, to preserve it to fight fires. They carried on watering because they could afford the fines.”
