After refusing to pick a side publicly during the US Presidential election, Kim Kardashian appeared to make a strong political statement on social media during Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Kim Kardashian has caused a stir after posting a photo of Melania Trump attending the presidential inauguration ceremony on Tuesday.

The event, held at the Capitol Rotunda in Washington DC, marked the swearing-in of former and now re-elected US President Donald Trump.

The ceremony, attended by the Trump family, friends, and about 1,000 guests, was moved indoors due to freezing temperatures- the first such adjustment since Ronald Reagan’s second inauguration in 1985.

American filmmaker David Lynch has died aged 78.

Melania Trump, 54, turned heads with her ensemble: a double-breasted navy silk wool coat dress by designer Adam Lippes, paired with a matching navy and ivory boater hat by milliner Eric Javits.

While Kardashian has rarely shared her political views publicly, her Instagram Story featuring the Slovenian-American former model drew significant attention.

The photo of Melania arriving at the inauguration sparked speculation, with some interpreting it as a political endorsement.

“Kim Kardashian just showed love to Melania Trump on her Instagram page. The vibe shift is real,” one fan wrote on X.

Another added: “Successful billionaire, Kim Kardashian, has posted Melania Trump on her Instagram Story. We know who she voted for.”

Sky News Australia’s Washington correspondent Annelise Nielsen also weighed in on Trump’s outfit, calling it a “very deliberate statement” in line with the Trump administration’s focus on American manufacturing.

“It is notable that in this multi-billion-dollar clothing industry, she picked two New York designers, Adam Lippes and Eric Javits, to make her coat and hat,” Nielsen said.

“They are designers that hand make designer American clothing in New York; this is the Trump administration, which is America first; they want American manufacturing back, and I think that would have been a very deliberate statement on Melania’s part.”

Kardashian, who is known to share a friendship with the President’s eldest daughter and former senior advisor, Ivanka Trump, has not commented further on the post.
