Bulls’ Josh Giddey’s near quadruple-double so rare even Michael Jordan, LeBron James never did it

Josh Giddey shared a court with LeBron James on Saturday night.

But then the Chicago Bulls standout accomplished something that neither the King nor Michael Jordan never did.

Giddey went for 15 points, 10 rebounds, 17 assists and eight steals, nearly reaching quadruple-double status. As it was, no player in NBA history had ever gone for that combination of 15-10-17-8 in the same game.

The Australian playmaker was a huge reason the Bulls smashed the Lakers, 146-115, despite James’ return from a seven-game absence.

Giddey’s 17 assists matched his career high.

He had never come close to a steals game like the one he had, as his previous career-best there was four.

Maybe the sweetest part of Giddey’s defensive night: He had three steals directly from James, and another three directly from Luka Doncic. The Lakers’ duo combined for 12 turnovers overall.

Giddey was aided by huge scoring nights from Coby White, who had 36, and Matas Buzelis, who had a career-high 31.
