Grimes publicly urges Elon Musk to stop ignoring her texts about their child’s ‘medical crisis

The musician apologized for contacting the father of her three children “publicly,” but pleaded, “This is urgent, Elon” in a now-deleted series of posts.

Grimes has resorted to social media pleas for the attention of the father of her three children: X owner, Tesla founder, and DOGE head Elon Musk.

In a series of now-deleted posts to X on Thursday, the musician whose legal name is Claire Boucher wrote, “Plz respond about our child’s medical crisis. I am sorry to do this publicly but it is no longer acceptable to ignore this situation. This requires immediate attention.”

“If you don’t want to talk to me can you please designate or hire someone who can so that we can move forward on solving this,” she wrote in conclusion. “This is urgent, Elon.”

Reps for Grimes and Musk did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly‘s request for comment.

Grimes and Musk first made their relationship public by attending the Met Gala together in May 2018. They were linked on and off until 2021, when Musk announced that they were “semi-separated.” Over the course of their relationship, they had three children: X Æ A-Xii, 4, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2.

The “Oblivion” singer did not specify which child was in the midst of crisis in her messages to Musk, but did respond to other X users in subsequent, now-deleted posts. “I’m not giving any details but he won’t respond to texts call or emails and has skipped every meeting and our child will suffer life long impairment if he doesn’t respond asap,” she replied to a user who speculated that “going public” would not provide her with the remedy she sought. “So I need him to f—ing respond and if I have to apply public pressure then I guess that’s where we’re at.”

Grimes began to publicly voice her increasing reservations about Musk in a variety of ways following their separation. In August 2023, she commented on Musk’s outspoken anti-transgender views in light of his trans daughter Vivian Jenna Wilson, who has called him “uncaring and narcissistic.”

“Take the trans thing,” Grimes shared, “We had a big, long conversation… it came down to pretty much every way that you transition can cause fertility issues. I was like, OK, you don’t hate trans people, you hate woke culture.”

In September 2023, she apologized after deleting a post accusing Musk of not letting her see their son, but later doubled down on that accusation, claiming that the pair’s custody battle led to “having my Instagram posts and modeling used as reasons I shouldn’t have my kids,” and that ultimately she “didn’t see one of my babies for 5 months.”

The musician’s mother, Sandy Garossino, validated her daughter’s claims last July when she utilized the same public outreach strategy to tell Musk on X, “I’m writing here as the only way I have to reach you. As you know, my 93 year old mother is now at end-of-life palliative care. She yearns to see and hold Claire’s children one last time. Especially the youngest, whom she has not yet met.”
