LEAGUE-WIDE SHOCK: Are the Lakers About to Land a $175M Superstar and Form the Most DOMINANT Big Three with LeBron & Luka?

The Los Angeles Lakers shocked the world on Feb. 1 when they acquired Luka Dončić in a trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks.

Though the Dončić trade certainly gives the Lakers a ton of flexibility for the future, they’re just 9-6 since he made his debut on Feb. 10. Because their ultimate goal is to win a championship as soon as possible, Bleacher Report predicts that Milwaukee Bucks superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo will land in Los Angeles this summer.

“The Lakers already landed a dream target in Luka Dončić, but the franchise is greedy,” Bleacher Report’s Eric Pincus said. “If Antetokounmpo demands out, a combination of salaries, talent and picks could get him to Los Angeles. It’s a stretch, but it’d be remiss to leave him out if this is a team’s wish list.”

Los Angeles can’t trade their first-round picks in 2026, 2028, and 2030 because they already traded away their first-round picks in 2025, 2027, and 2029. That could significantly hinder the Lakers’ ability to land the two-time MVP unless they find a way to get creative, though Austin Reaves and Dalton Knecht could intrigue the Bucks.

Reaves and Rui Hachimura could also help the Lakers add draft picks in separate deals, as contenders around the league could view either player as an important piece to help them bring home a championship. Shall the Lakers figure this out, adding Antetokounmpo next to Doncic and LeBron James would make them instant favorites to win a championship.

Doncic and Antetokounmpo would have a field day in the pick-and-roll and James can still score and orchestrate the offense at an extremely high level. Antetokounmpo would also alleviate the Lakers’ big man concerns, as he can use his size and length to help protect the rim.
