Watch ‘The Voice’ Artist Who Uses ‘A Little Prayer’ for His Blind Audition to Win a Four-Chair Turn
Every season there continues to be an amazing amount of talent on The Voice. And Season 27 isn’t any different with several four-chair turns to date. Normally, it’s coach John Legend who wins the most four-chair turns for his team. But this season, returning OG coach Adam Levine is giving him a run for his money with three to John’s one so far.
The battle continues tonight with 28-year-old Conor James from Bridgewater, MA, who gets all four coaches–Adam, John, Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé–to turn for his performance of Aretha Franklin’s “I Say a Little Prayer.” Will he opt to go Team Adam or Team Legend?
“Conor, that was so beautiful,” John says, speaking first. “It is truly one of our great songs, period, in the world. What I really loved about your version is it really took us on a journey. It was soulful. It was elegant. It was all so tastefully done. You are so cool.”
“You are so cool. I like you,” Conor answered.
John continued, “I just wanted to know your musical path to this show.”
“I’ve done musical theater before…” Conor said.
“I felt some of that,” John responded.
Conor continued, “I write my own songs, I produce my own songs, this is my whole life.”
“What do you play?” John asked.
“I play keys like you, John.”
“We have so much in common,” John pointed out. “I am actually writing Broadway shows now. I would be honored to coach you. I believe you will go super far on this show.”
Next, Michael went in for some wooing, but his pitch wasn’t as good as John’s.
“Conor, you are adorable, firstly,” he said. “You were so cool up there. I would love to have you on my team because I think there’s a way for you to win this thing, obviously. But it would just be fun for me, in this very human way, to watch you bring all this light into my life and to get to ride with you. Thank you so much for coming out here and just being you.”

Next, Kelsea put on her best argument to win the four-chair turn Conor.
“I am obsessed with you,” she admitted. “This is my first season, I’m new here. I’m learning the ropes, and I quite literally forgot I had a job to do when I was turned around. That’s why I was a little late to this party, because I was just vibing and listening. I felt before I even saw you, ‘This person is so in their body,’ then I turned around and watching you, you can tell when someone feels it. It’s just in you. We’re still navigating our own careers. It’s so inspiring to see someone like you and think, ‘Oh, my God, I never want to lose that in myself.’ I would really, really love to work with you.”
The final pitch was Adam. Will it prove to be that the best is saved for last?
