Will Smith FARTING on set caused film crew to be evacuated for three hours – director claims.

Will Smith is known for many things and now, thanks to Men In Black director Barry Sonnenfeld, flatulence is one of them.

Sonnenfeld, who directed Will in the 1997 action comedy Men In Black, claims the Oscar-winner once broke wind so severely, that an entire film set had to be evacuated for three hours.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Smith’s representatives for comment on the matter.

Per the director’s recollection, the incident took place when Smith and co-star Tommy Lee Jones were in a transforming car that required them to be ‘hermetically sealed’ in a pod.

He explained, ‘There are locks to prevent it from opening and falling. I say, “Roll camera,” and I hear Will Smith go, “Oh Jesus, so sorry. Tommy, so sorry. Baz, get the ladder.” And you hear Tommy saying, “That’s fine, Will. No worries, Will. Don’t worry, Will.” Anyway, I don’t know what’s gone on, right?’

Barry went on to say, ‘So we race the ladder over, Tommy reaches his leg out as the ladder is coming over, races down the stairs. And what happened was, Will Smith is a farter.’

He continued: ‘It’s just some people are. And you really don’t want to be inside a very small hermetically sealed space with a Will Smith fart.’

‘You don’t even want to be sitting next to him at the Disney ranch,’ he emphasized.

He made the comments while appearing on the podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa.

Men in Black went on to become the third-highest-grossing movie of 1997, raking in $584 million worldwide.

Two Men in Black sequels came out under the direction of Barry — 2002’s Men in Black II and 2012’s Men in Black 3. They each co-starred Josh Brolin.Back in April, Will surprised Coachella concertgoers as he joined Colombian singer J Balvin, 39, on stage.

They performed the Philadelphia-bred rapper’s 1997 song Men In Black, which was released alongside the film.

Smith got into character as James Darrell Edwards III (Agent J) wearing a black suit and sunglasses.

Some of his backup dancers matched his look, while others dressed up as green aliens from the sci-fi movie.

It came five years after his last performance at the festival, when he joined son Jaden Smith on the Sahara stage as they performed their song Icon.

It was also his first musical performance since his infamous incident at the 2022 Oscars, during which he slapped comedian Chris Rock after he made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s baldness.

Smith also took the stage in Los Angeles for a surprise performance of his 1991 hit song Summertime in August.

The longtime entertainer — who performed a new song at the BET Awards this year — joined singer Coco Jones at an event celebrating season three of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air spinoff, titled Bel-Air.
