The reality star, 44, said thought she was in the middle of a terror attack when masked burglars burst into her hotel room.

Describing the moment they pointed a gun at her, she said: “The other had the gun up to my back. That’s the first moment when I thought should I run for it and run down the stairs.

“That’s when I realised I should just do whatever they say.”

Speaking of her terror as she was thrown onto her hotel bed, naked under her robe, she said: “The robe opens up and everything is exposed on my bottom half.

“I was certain that was the moment he was going to rape me.

“He pulled me towards him and I said a prayer and tried to mentally prepare myself.”

She added: “I was on the bed and then one of them had the gun up to me and at that point that’s when they were going to shoot me, that’s when I was certain that they would shoot me.”

When they first burst into her room, Kim explained that she had no idea what they wanted, and said: “I was still in such shock, because honestly a lot of terrorist attacks were going on in the world and me and my friends were talking about what was going on in the world.

“I didn’t get what was happening and I didn’t get it was about my jewellery, even though they specifically asked for my ring.”

She added: “I absolutely did think I was going to die.

“When I thought it was going to happen on the bed, he ended up picking me up and put me in the bathroom, on the floor in the bathroom.

“He kind of dropped me on the floor as if something was frantic and he had to get out quickly.”

Kim arrived wearing a black blazer with a large glittering diamond necklace, and her hair tied back.

She was surrounded by four burly security guards as she made her way into the well of the court, past those accused of robbing her.

Ten members of the Gendarmerie, the French police, have been drafted into the courtroom for her appearance.

Kardashian kept her hands interlaced in front of her on the stand while giving her account of the raid.

Her mum Kris Jenner is watching her from the well of the court along with other members of her entourage.

When she was on the bed with a gun pointed at her, Kim explained she “said a prayer for my family and my mom and my sister and best friend.”

She said she thought about them walking into the room and finding her dead on the bed.

“I hoped they would have an OK life after,” she said.

When the police arrived afterwards, Kardashian said she was still in a state of shock and was fearful that she could not trust the cops, given her attackers had dressed up in police uniforms.

Explaining her security arrangements after the raid, she said “I think this experience really changed everything for us. I never thought that we were ever not safe before this.

“I always felt safe even just knowing that Pascal was in town, even if he was in a different hotel. Security was a newer concept for us, I wouldn’t have personal security at my house.”

She added: “It wasn’t something that I always felt I needed until this trip.”

“It changed in the way I feel safe. At home I now have between four and six night security at home, just to feel safe. I think there’s people who hear about these stories and want to recreate it.

“When I was in Paris, my house in Los Angeles got robbed because they heard what had happened in Paris.”

Earlier the court heard how she screamed “I have babies, I need to live” as the men threatened her and took millions of dollars worth of her jewellery, including her engagement ring.

Simone Harouche, 45, Kim’s former stylist who was staying in the same hotel at the time, said she feared her friend had been raped by the intruders during the heist.

When the two women found each other, Kim suggested they jump out of the first floor window to get away in case the gang came back.

French media has dubbed the gang of criminals “Grandpa robbers” because many are in their 60s and 70s with ailing health.

The landmark trial has attracted a lot of attention with queues outside the court starting at 6am this morning.

Around 500 foreign media accredited by the French justice system will also be in attendance along with a huge police presence.

Ten people are on trial for stealing $10million worth of luxury jewels – including Kim’s $4million diamond engagement ring.

Of the ten being tried, five are on trial for armed robbery and kidnap charges while the rest are on for complicity in the heist or possession of a weapon.

French media has dubbed the gang of criminals “Grandpa robbers” because many are in their 60s and 70s with ailing health.

Most have criminal records spanning back decades and have spent much of their adult lives behind bars.

The alleged ringleader of the group, Aomar Ait Khedache, 68, has been questioned but is deaf and mute and had to write his answers down.

He has also reportedly written a letter to Kim from jail apologising for the trauma he caused.

Most of the defendants are expected to receive lengthy jail sentences if found guilty.

The trial is expected to continue until the end of May.

The attackers then carried her to the bathtub wearing only a bathrobe.

And the court has heard that it was likely the dressing gown came undone at some point during the heist and the robbers saw her partially naked.

The reality star has previously spoken of how she thought she was going to be raped and killed during the raid in an emotional interview on US TV.

Kim said: “I was like, ‘Okay, this is the time I’m going to get raped’.”

She added that she that worried for her sister Kourtney, who was out clubbing, and said: “I’m gonna be dead in the room and she’s gonna be traumatised for the rest of her life.”
