Aston Villa forward Marcus Rashford was amongst the stars in attendance at Ben Whittaker’s fight with Liam Cameron.

Rashford was in good spirits as he linked up with Whittaker prior to the latter’s eagerly-anticipated rematch with Cameron in Birmingham.

England international Rashford was wearing a leather jacket and a baseball cap as well as a white t-shirt, sunglasses and several chains.

In addition, Rashford was seen with another boxing star in Adam Azim.

Whittaker and Cameron drew in their initial bout in Saudi Arabia in October last year.

As a result Whittaker retained the IBF International light-heavyweight title, which he had won by triumphing against Eworitse Ezra Arenyeka.

The Villa forward has been in impressive form since joining from Man United on loan

Rashford has enjoyed a new lease of life at Aston Villa after joining on loan from Manchester United, where he had been frozen out under Ruben Amorim.

So far Rashford has scored three goals and provided six assists in 16 games for Villa across all competitions.

On Saturday Rashford featured as a substitute as Villa won 4-1 against Newcastle.

As well as Rashford, another Premier League star was in attendance at the fight in Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas.

The 28-year-old had been in action just hours earlier as he played the entirety of Liverpool’s 1-0 win against Leicester, with his side taking another step towards winning the Premier League title.

Whittaker stated that he will silence his critics after being accused of quitting during the first fight against Cameron.

‘It didn’t go our way, it was a draw, I didn’t like the way it ended,’ Whittaker told Mail Sport as he recalled his first meeting with Cameron.

Asked why he had opted to go straight back in with Cameron, Whittaker replied: ‘Just to right that wrong and shut people up in a sense. Get it done and move on.

‘Everyone’s got their own opinion and that’s the thing we love and hate about boxing. At the end of the day, when I win those same people that said I quit, I’ll see you after.’
