Chris Eubank Jr has received yet another fine from the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC).

Eubank Jr appeared in front of the Board’s Southern Area Council last week for a hearing into the weight-cutting methods he used for his grudge match with Conor Benn in April at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

‘Next Gen’ posted a video to social media where he suggested he was using a sauna to boil down to the 160lbs middleweight limit.

The use of saunas is strictly prohibited by the BBBofC.

And although the Board determined Eubank Jr had not broken those rules after reviewing evidence from the boxer and his team, they did fine him £10,000 for misuse of social media.

A statement from the Southern Area Council on the matter reads as follows: “Mr. Eubank Jnr. was found to be in breach of Regulation 25 for misuse of social media.

“The Southern Area Council fined Mr. Eubank Jnr. the sum of £10,000.

“Mr. Eubank Jnr. was confirmed as arriving late for the official weigh-in ceremony for the contest in question and received a severe reprimand placed on his file from the Southern Area Council.”

This latest development brings Eubank Jr’s total fines for his fight with Benn up to £485,000.

The Brighton boxer was first handed a £100,000 penalty from the Board for slapping Benn with an egg at their launch press conference in February.

He then handed over a further £375,000 to Benn after missing weight by half an ounce at the day before weigh-in.

Luckily, Eubank Jr was able to make the following morning’s 170lbs rehydration limit to avoid another financial hit.

After doing so, he went on to beat Benn via unanimous decision in an instant British classic.

However, he was hospitalised in the immediate aftermath due to dehydration.

Despite this, the weight terms for the Eubank Jr-Benn rematch on September 20 remain the same.

Benn’s promoter Eddie Hearn told talkSPORT.com last week: “I only know the contract that we signed, which was the same terms as the first fight.

“I presume there’s is the same, if not, then that is their problem.”

Eubank Jr will have to pay his five-figure fine to the BBBofC before they can license him for a second bout with Benn.
