Oleksandr Usyk rarely carries any ill will for his opponents – but Marco Huck is the only exception.
The bitter rivals squared off in September 2017 in the quarter-finals of the World Boxing Super Series cruiserweight tournament.

At the time, Usyk was the WBO champion at 200lbs – a belt Huck had held for a remarkable 6 years between 2009 and 2015.
The usually serene Usyk was uncharacteristically rilled during the build-up to their battle at the Max-Schmelling-Halle in Berlin, Germany.
After Huck shoved him at their final face off, a livid Usyk bellowed: “I will bury him on Saturday,” as he was hurried out of the building.
The outburst came after an onslaught of personal jibes from Huck, including some choice words for Usyk’s mother.
“My weakness is I love people, I love my opponent,” Usyk told DAZN.
“Only one of my opponents I don’t love. It’s Marco Huck.
“[He is a] bad guy, because this man says bad words for my mama. Listen, it’s bad.”
Usyk made Huck eat his words when they met in the ring.
The German came out of the gates all guns blazing but he was immediately nullified by Usyk, who elected to go toe to toe in the centre of the ring.
By round three, Usyk’s tireless work rate started to take its toll on Huck.

In the eighth stanza, as desperation started to set in, Huck tripped Usyk, resulting in a point deduction.
Two frames later, he was stopped against the ropes by a heavy flurry, capping off a satisfying win for the defending champion.
In the preceding stages of the Super Series, Usyk defeated Mairis Briedis and Murat Gassiev to win the Muhammad Ali Trophy and unify the cruiserweight division.
Six years later, he would also achieve undisputed supremacy at heavyweight by edging Tyson Fury in a close encounter in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
And he is now aiming to become a three-time undisputed champion in his upcoming clash with Daniel Dubois on July 19.
