Tiffany Haddish joked that Lopez needed to save a dancer for her following the steamy number

Jennifer Lopez’s opening number at the 2025 American Music Awards has fans — and celebs — talking.

During the medley opening the Las Vegas-based awards ceremony, the Grammy-nominated artist performed 23 songs in six minutes, which included her 2012 hit “Dance Again.”

Lopez, 55, wearing a shimmering nude jumpsuit, also surprised the audience when she kissed the dancers in the epic opener.

At one point, she locked lips with a male dancer and then a female dancer.

Among the songs featured in the medley were “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish and “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar along with Charli xcx and Billie Eilish’s “Guess,” “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone, Bad Bunny’s “NUEVAYoL,” Tinashe’s “Nasty,” “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” by Shaboozey and Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control.”

The steamy moment caught one celebrity’s attention during the awards show.

Following the fast-paced musical medley, Tiffany Haddish took the stage to shout out the singer. “How cool is it to have a total superstar like J.Lo hosting the AMAs?” Haddish, 45, asked the audience, joking that this year they should be called the “JMAs.”

“Our host has just danced to 23 hits in six minutes,” she continued. “Just from that opening number alone, Jenny from the Block has got all her steps in for the day, and she got all her kisses in.”

“Save a dancer for me, J.Lo. Damn! You ain’t the only one out here single,” the comedian added before announcing the winner for the Favorite R&B Song category.

Haddish, meanwhile, said during a May appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers that she’s “dating multiple people.” “I’m still dating multiple people, but new multiple people,” she said.

“But one or two from the old roster transferred over to the new roster,” Haddish joked. “There’s a couple holdovers. I’m running a team here.”

The American Music Awards, hosted by Jennifer Lopez, are airing live Monday, May 26 from Fontainebleau Las Vegas at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.
