Jessica Simpson caught a flight out of LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Monday amid her modest music comeback.

The 44-year-old former pop star – who hauled a large Louis Vuitton carry-on – wore a brown-suede fringed jacket over a horizontal-striped cardigan, vertical-striped flared pants, and beige platform heels.

Jessica rocked an excess of black eyeliner and wore her signature flaxen locks down inside the bustling terminal.

That same day, Simpson teased her next single Leave – dropping this Friday – which was likely about her legal separation from estranged second husband Eric Johnson in January after a decade of marriage.

‘Oh I want you to leave,’ the Jessica Simpson Collection CEO sang. ‘And I don’t even want to breathe the air you breathe.’

Jessica’s prior single Use My Heart Against Me – which dropped on February 21 – has only received 53K views on YouTube and 67K streams on Spotify.

It marked Simpson’s first original song in 15 years, but she did release a cover of Nothing but Thieves’ Particles in 2021.

The platinum-blonde Texan’s three-minute comeback track ‘was inspired by the artists from the roots of rock ‘n’ roll like Betty James, Bo Diddley, and Chuck Berry to name a few.’

Jessica ‘nervously’ mined material from her ‘plethora of journals’ and said ‘music makes you un-become to become’ and her ‘soul has been pulled to the very place it belongs.’

‘To the girl I was, I love you. To the woman I am, I am proud of you. To the woman I am becoming, I am excited for you… let’s do this… it’s go time!’ Simpson – who boasts 15.1M social media followers – wrote.

The Walmart collaborator – who celebrated seven years of sobriety on November 1 – said Nashville has always been her place of self-discovery as far back as age 14 when she recorded a gospel record there.

‘It’s given me a way to connect my words to my actual voice and there’s a lot of beauty in that and there’s a lot of light in that,’ Jessica gushed.

‘The beauty of music [is] you’re always going to be discovering and that’s why artists want to keep writing and keep putting out music.’

The three other tracks on Simpson’s EP Nashville Canyon Part 1 – dropping March 21 – are titled Breadcrumbs, Sunday Lover, and Blame Me.

In January, the Dukes of Hazzard alum put her $11.5M seven-bedroom Hidden Hills marital mansion on the real estate market for $17.9M.
