Beauty Paris Hilton said she was sexually abused as a teenager while studying at a boarding school. Paris wants to tell her whole story to protect victims of sexual violence.

In a video interview with the New York Times on October 11, Paris Hilton shocked everyone when she revealed that she was sexually abused by staff at Provo Canyon School, a mental health treatment center for teenagers in the state of Utah (USA) in the 1990s. The 41-year-old TV star said that those “darkest days of her life” stole her childhood.

The famous heiress recounted: “Very late at night, around 3-4am, they took me and other girls into the room to do medical tests. I don’t know what they did but they were definitely not doctors. That process was really scary. I tried to forget it for many years. But that memory is coming back and forcing me to think about it. Now, as an adult and looking back, I understand that it was definitely sexual abuse”.

Paris Hilton confided that she burst into tears and protested the actions of the staff but to no avail. The boarding school staff threatened her to keep quiet. “It was important to be open about the painful moments so that I could heal and help end the abuse”, she firmly said.

The reality TV star said that she was lucky that things did not go too far, but Paris Hilton’s psychology was not without trauma and even obsessions until now. She hopes to speak out to help other girls in the same situation know how to protect themselves.

It is known that when Paris Hilton was 16 years old, her parents – Mr. and Mrs. Rick and Kathy Hilton sent their eldest daughter to study at Provo Canyon boarding school. The blonde beauty stayed there for 11 months before being sent home in 1999. After returning to New York (USA), Paris did not talk about life at boarding school until recent years.

In 2020, she released a documentary called The Is Paris. The film revealed her troubled youth and haunting experiences at boarding school. Paris said: “I know it was worse than any other place. It was called school but classes were not the focus. From the moment we woke up until we went to bed, we were constantly being yelled at and abused.”

In the film, Paris said that she and 3 classmates tried to fight back but failed. They received punishments such as being forced to take medicine, being grounded and, most seriously, being put in solitary confinement for 20 hours a day. These punishments turned her adult years into a nightmare.

In February 2021, Paris once again confirmed that she was verbally, mentally and physically abused every day at Provo Canyon boarding school. A few months later, she partnered with two organizations, Unsilenced.org and Breaking Code Silence, to urge the federal government to take action against facilities that abuse minors. Through this project, Paris reached out to 200 people in similar situations in Washington, DC, USA.

Over the past time, Paris Hilton has been working hard with lawmakers to push for the passage of bills to increase government oversight of youth treatment centers in Utah (USA).

In March 2021, the Utah Legislature passed SB127, which Paris sponsored. Accordingly, they issued more specific regulations on youth centers in the state.

In addition, Paris also publicly supported the closure of the school she attended since 2020. The reality TV star and those with similar experiences are trying to call for help, expecting legal protection.

Representatives of Provo Canyon Boarding School have not yet commented on Paris’s latest sharing. It is known that in August 2021, Universal Health Services – the organization that has owned Provo Canyon Boarding School since 2000, was sued and accused of sexually abusing a student who enrolled in 2001.
