Disgraced rugby player Stuart Hogg welcomes baby boy with ‘world’s sexiest jockey’ Leonna Mayor – six weeks after being spared jail for domestic abuse
Disgraced rugby player Stuart Hogg has welcomed a baby boy with girlfriend Leonna Mayor – six weeks after being spared jail for domestic abuse.
Last month, Hogg admitted to abusing his estranged wife Gillian Hogg during a five-year campaign of terror in which he berated her with foul messages and tracking her movements.
The former Scotland rugby captain, 32, split from his Gillian in 2023 , and his new romance with jockey Mayor came to light just days after his spouse of seven years gave birth to their fourth child in November.
Mayor, who was dubbed ‘the world’s sexiest jockey’ when she posed in her underwear for Zoo magazine in 2013, revealed on Friday that the couple have now welcomed a son.
Announcing the news on Instagram, she shared an adorable snap of their newborn, revealing that mother and baby were healthy after she gave birth prematurely.
She wrote: ‘So that was a BIG week… one that presented us with our little man Teddy John Hogg. A beautiful perfect bundle on 12/2/2025 at just 4lb 6oz.’

She revealed the couple had named their son Teddy and that she had been in hospital for a week after welcoming the newborn earlier than expected
‘I’ve been in a baby bubble for a week and we’ve been closely monitored and wonderfully cared for by the midwives here at Saint Roch hospital. He’s feeling like a trooper and was allowed home on Wednesday.
‘Thank you for all your love and support as always and for the friends and family who have already wished us well, checked in on us and sent their congratulations. We truly appreciate it.
‘Apologies for the incoming baby spam, it’s going to be constant FYI. AND HOW DID I NOT HOW UNBELIEVABLE IT IS TO HAVE A BABY. [sic]’
She added the hashtags: ‘#Teddy #Teddyjohn #newborn #newlife #newera #prematurebaby #smallbaby #inlove #baby #babytips’.
Hogg also has four children with his estranged wife Gillian, whom he is in the process of divorcing.
The news of his fifth child comes as calls for him to be stripped of his MBE are being ‘formally reviewed’.
Stephen Flynn, the party’s Commons group leader, said Hogg’s honour must be removed following his conviction for shouting and swearing at his wife, tracking her movements and bombarding her with texts.
Hogg, who was awarded an MBE in the New Year Honours list last year, was given a Community Payback Order in January and will be supervised for 12 months for the torment he inflicted on the mother of his four children.

Stuart Hogg leaves court after sentencing for abusing estranged wife
In a post on social media platform X, Mr Flynn said: ‘The state honour that follows his name must be rescinded.
‘Having raised it in the Commons, and with the relevant committee, it’s been confirmed that the matter is being formally reviewed.’
Hogg, a former Glasgow Warriors and Exeter Chiefs full-back – now playing in France with Montpellier – has amassed 100 caps for his country.
He caused his wife to suffer a panic attack, berated her for ‘not being fun’, and sent ‘aggressive and hostile’ messages.
While women’s Aid charity chiefs blasted the sentence for not ‘meeting the test of being proportionate’, rape survivor Ellie Wilson has said Hogg should lose his MBE.
Speaking last month, she said: ‘They’re supposed to reward people that have given back, are good role models, have made change.
‘Having someone who has been convicted of domestic abuse with an MBE, just cheapens the award.’
Dr Marsha Scott, chief executive of Scottish Women’s Aid, said: ‘Children and women living with domestic abuse have said for decades that the impact of coercive control – the stalking, the micromanaging of mothering, of where they go, what they wear, what they’re allowed to say – is far more traumatic than a physical assault.
‘And research tells us that coercive and controlling behaviours are the most significant indicator of potential lethality – abusers who murder their children and partners.
‘Unfortunately, every part of our system – courts, media, social work – continues to treat this coercion as if it were the ‘less serious’ abuse.’

Calls for Hogg to be stripped of his MBE after admitting a five-year campaign of abuse against his estranged wife are being ‘formally reviewed’, an SNP MP has claimed
She continued: ‘A trauma-informed response is impossible when those assumptions drive decisions. Lack of understanding about the impact of coercive control is compounded by systems which are blind to the needs of the most marginalised women – including disabled women and migrant women.
‘Coercive control is the foundation upon which domestic abuse is built, exerting a profound and lasting toll on survivors’ mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
‘This is why domestic abuse is often called ‘intimate terrorism,’ which reflects the relentless tactics abusers use to dominate, manipulate, and control their partners, creating a prison of fear that is invisible to those just looking for a physical injury.
‘Scotland may have the ‘world’s gold standard’ domestic abuse law, but it is long past time that our systems catch up to the intent of the Scottish Parliament, and deliver the potential built into the law.
‘Until that happens, that law is just a piece of paper if you’re living with domestic abuse. Or perpetrating coercive control.
‘The sentence in this case, like so many handed down in Scotland, hardly meets the test of being proportionate when compared to the harm this man has caused.’
Hogg had previously been given a five-year non-harassment order and fined £600 after breaching bail conditions.
At Selkirk Sheriff Court in January, Sheriff Peter Paterson said a court date to review Hogg’s progress on the payback order would be fixed for March 25 – but Hogg would not have to appear if the report was satisfactory ‘because there is no point in interrupting his career’.
A Cabinet Office spokesman said it is ‘unable to comment’ on which cases are under consideration by the honours forfeiture committee.
