Maura Higgins has been exposed with evidence showing she was the one who cheated, causing her relationship with Pete Wicks to fall apart. “She’s the real manipulator in all of this.”

Maura Higgins’ recent remark about her ex-boyfriend Pete Wicks has resurfaced and gone viral following her headline-making kiss with McFly’s Danny Jones over the weekend.

The former Love Island contestant, 34, was spotted sharing what was described as a ‘drunken kiss’ with Danny at Universal Music’s BRIT Awards afterparty on Saturday night.

The incident gained even more attention due to the fact that Danny has been married to his wife, Georgia, for over ten years.

As news of the kiss spread, Maura’s previous comments about her ex Pete Wicks, 37, have come back into the spotlight.

Just last month, it was reported that Maura and Pete had called it quits following a series of disagreements.

Days after their split was made public, Maura had a night out on Valentine’s Day and was approached by a photographer outside Sheesh restaurant in London.

When asked about Pete’s whereabouts, she made a pointed remark, saying, “Dunno, probably cheating.” Her comment was captured in a video that quickly circulated online.

Since the recent events involving Danny Jones, many fans have taken to social media to highlight the irony of Maura’s words. Some users on X, formerly known as Twitter, pointed out that she had accused Pete of infidelity, yet she was now caught up in a situation involving another woman’s husband.

One user commented, “Isn’t this the same Maura who claimed Pete was ‘probably cheating’ on V-Day too… and now she’s been spotted kissing a married man?”

Another wrote, “Danny Jones and Maura Higgins kissing is quite ironic considering her recent comments – ‘I don’t know, probably cheating’ – about Pete Wicks.”

A third added, “So Maura blasts Pete for cheating but kisses Danny Jones… make it make sense.”

Footage from the BRITs afterparty showed Maura and Danny spending a significant amount of time together. They were seen sitting closely in a booth, sharing a table with I’m A Celebrity co-star Oti Mabuse. Earlier in the evening, Maura had been seated with Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo at the BRITs ceremony itself, with only one table separating her from Pete Wicks. Despite the proximity, the former couple reportedly did not interact.

Danny, on the other hand, was sitting a few tables away with his fellow McFly bandmate, Tom Fletcher. Later, video footage taken around 3 a.m. showed Maura and Danny standing near each other in the venue’s foyer, talking closely before he appeared to lean in and give her a brief kiss. The two were then seen leaving as part of a larger group, which included Tom Fletcher, before Maura headed home alone in a taxi.

An onlooker described their interaction, saying, “Danny and Maura seemed to be having a great time. They looked like they had a brief drunken kiss. Danny and Maura seem to have a close friendship after meeting in the jungle. They were talking and laughing for ages.”

Danny’s wife, Georgia Horsley, has yet to publicly comment on the situation. However, she released a new episode of her podcast, Mum’s The Word, on Monday, in which she focused entirely on parenting, their recent house move, and her trip to Australia to visit Danny while he was competing on I’m A Celebrity. Notably, she made no mention of her husband or the BRITs controversy, though it’s possible that the episode was recorded before the incident took place.

Danny and Georgia have been married since 2014 and share a six-year-old son, Cooper. While Georgia has stayed silent on the matter, speculation is mounting about how the situation will impact their relationship.

As for Maura, her past words about Pete Wicks have now taken on a new level of scrutiny. Fans continue to discuss the situation online, with many questioning whether Maura will address the backlash. Meanwhile, representatives for both Maura and Danny have been contacted for comments on the incident but have yet to respond.

With the drama surrounding the BRITs afterparty still unfolding, it remains to be seen how those involved will react. However, Maura’s viral comment about Pete has certainly added an extra layer of controversy to the situation, leaving fans eager to see what happens next.

He added: ‘It’s very difficult to have small talk with people when that’s their reference because I don’t know anything about it.’

Sam said: ‘Let’s be honest I can’t imagine you hanging out with people who say, “When’s the nearest episode of Love Island?”‘

Pete responded: ‘No but even when I walk through the office… just no.’

Maura starred on the fifth series of the ITV programme back in 2019, while Sam’s ex, Zara McDermott, also featured on the show in 2018.

On Sunday, Pete reflected on his boozy night at the BRIT Awards and revealed he was hungover when he launched his new KISS FM radio show, The Sunday Roast, with Olivia Attwood.

Pete spoke about the show when he joined Olivia, 33, on Monday’s episode of This Morning, revealing they were both worse for wear when they hosted the radio show just hours later.

Host Cat Deeley quipped: ‘You made it through’, as Pete confessed: ‘We made it through, I think that’s the biggest surprise to the bosses and us that we’ve made it through.’

‘It was touch and go,’ Olivia added.

Cat described how the pair were ‘very much full of beans’ at the start but eventually ‘the hangover started to kick in, just a little bit’.
