Blake Lively has implicitly been accused of being ‘cruel’ by an assistant director who worked on the 2018 movie A Simple Favor.
Barbara Szeman, who also has credits on films such as Suicide Squad and Flatliners, seemingly took to Instagram to share some details about her experience of working with Lively, who is currently embroiled in a legal battle with her It Ends With Us costar Justin Baldoni.
The Instagram account @barbwiretv has since disappeared from the platform, but Szeman is listed on IMDb as Fourth Assistant Director for A Simple Favor, which also features Anna Kendrick and was directed by Paul Feig.
Her alleged comments were posted after British actor Henry Golding, who stars opposite Lively in A Simple Favor, shared a poster of the film’s sequel, Another Simple Favor, which is set to be released on Prime Video on May 1.
Golding, 38, had re-shared a post from Feig and captioned it: ‘From my man crush @paulfeig, with love,’ and Szeman was quick to share her thoughts.
‘I worked with you on the first one. My experience with everyone was absolutely amazing, except for a certain someone who is the reason I quit being an AD. Guess who that person is…’ she wrote.
She then added to Golding: ‘I wish you all the best with this though!’
As several people started replying to Szeman’s comment, she decided to elaborate and later wrote: ‘Thanks for the kindness. I want to avoid attention around this but I will say she was cruel to many.

Barbara’s apparent Instagram comment alluded to Blake being difficult to work with
‘I know I cried my way home many nights because you try so hard to please someone who is never pleased and puts you down constantly.
‘I can’t believe it’s actually getting back at her. Karma is real,’ she added, clearly referring to Gossip Girl star Lively, 37.
A screenshot of the exchange was later shared on Reddit and people rushed to comment on the thread.
‘Wow. I guess her NDA just expired,’ one person joked, referring to a non-disclosure agreement.
A second person wrote: ‘Wow! Karma train is rollin’ down the tracks toward Blank. The days of entitled “stars” steamrolling rolling over people they deem ‘beneath’ them need to be over.’
‘Oooooof! Put her on the stand!!! Lolll’ a third said, referring to a future trial regarding Lively and Baldoni’s opposing lawsuits against one another.
Someone else claimed: ‘All I gotta say is, if Blake was truly happy and fulfilled, she would not have dozens of people coming out and speaking about how cruel and entitled she is. Blake seems like a miserable person.’
On Wednesday evening, a Facebook account under the name Barbara Julianne posted: ‘Last time I leave a comment on an Instagram post.’

When someone commented on the post and asked: ‘What did you do?’ Barbara replied with a YouTube video filmed by Perez Hilton about her Instagram comments before adding: ‘The video is about me.’
Barbara later wrote on the Facebook post: ‘Just didn’t want to be dragged into this whole thing to begin with lol.’
DailyMail.com has reached out to Szeman for comment, as well as reps for Lively.
A source close to Lively said that the attempts to unearth negative portrayals of her are related to what Lively has claimed in court papers is Baldoni’s plan to ‘bury her.’
It comes after DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that Lively and Kendrick may do press for Another Simple Favor separately.
After Lively reportedly did little to address how her saga has tarnished the early reception to the new film, insiders claim Kendrick has been in talks with bosses about distancing herself from her costar.
‘These movies are basically all Anna and Blake have in common,’ a source told DailyMail.com. ‘They have a working relationship, by no means a close friendship or bond.
‘Last-minute talks are underway with execs as Anna would prefer to distance herself from Blake going forward.
‘It was originally planned that the two would do much of the promotion together. That’s what the studio requested, and Anna and Blake agreed to it. But Anna could go it alone over fears she will get caught up in the drama,’ they added.
