How you doin’? Probably a lot better than before, now that Joey is finally available to stream.
Yes, Matt Le Blanc’s infamous Friends spinoff has finally made its streaming debut. The official Friends YouTube channel has posted the first two episodes of the sitcom series, marking the first time the show has been available to stream since debuting on television over 20 years ago.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to Warner Bros. Television regarding plans to make additional episodes available to stream.
For now, fans can treat themselves to the opening episodes of the ill-fated sitcom, which premiered on Sept. 9, 2004, just four months after the flagship series came to an end.
The Friends offshoot saw LeBlanc’s Joey Tribbiani relocate from New York to Los Angeles with the hopes of finally making it in Hollywood. While there, he reunited with his high-strung sister, Gina, moved in with his 20-year-old nephew, Michael, and began a tentative romance with his ditzy neighbor and landlady.
Initially, the series seemed a success: After inheriting the Friends time slot, the spinoff scored 18.6 million viewers for the pilot. But fans clearly missed seeing the endearing — if dim-witted — Joey alongside his pals Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Monica (Courteney Cox), Chandler (Matthew Perry), Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), and Ross (David Schwimmer), because viewership steadily declined as the series progressed.
Anticipating this criticism ahead of the show’s debut. LeBlanc told EW in 2004, “It shouldn’t try to be Friends. If people say, ‘It’s no Friends,’ I’ll say, ‘Well, that’s a good observation. No s— it’s no Friends!’”

Joey was ultimately pulled from NBC before completing its second season, leaving eight episodes unaired (though they were broadcast by other networks internationally).
Friends co-creator and Joey executive director Kevin S. Bright later addressed the cancellation, telling The Age that Joey veering off-path from his Friends characterization was to blame for the spinoff’s demise.
“On Friends Joey was a womanizer, but we enjoyed his exploits. He was a solid friend, a guy you knew you could count on,” he explained. “Joey was deconstructed to be a guy who couldn’t get a job, couldn’t ask a girl out. He became a pathetic, mopey character.”
He added, “I felt he was moving in the wrong direction, but I was not heard.”
Joey’s ensemble cast also featured Drea de Matteo as his sister Gina, Andrea Anders as his love interest, Paulo Costanzo as his nephew, and Jennifer Coolidge as his agent. Aside from LeBlanc, Robert Costanzo was the only returnee to reprise a role originated on Friends, once again playing Joey’s father. Meanwhile, Adam Goldberg, Patrick Kerr, and Brent Spiner — who all appeared on Friends — played new roles in the spinoff.
