Jenna Ortega has shared praise for Lady Gaga after the two worked together on season two of Wednesday – see what Ortega had to say below.
In November last year, it was announced that Lady Gaga had been added to the cast of Netflix‘s Wednesday for its upcoming second season. Though filming wrapping in late 2024, a release date has yet to be confirmed, though it is expected to arrive sometime this year.
While at SXSW, franchise star Jenna Ortega – who plays the titular Wednesday Addams – spoke to IndieWire about working with Gaga, who has just dropped her seventh studio album ‘Mayhem’.

Ortega said of her experience working with Gaga: “It’s the best. She’s the best, definitely one of the most talented individuals I’ve ever worked with. It was just a really, really special environment to be there with her and Tim [Burton], two people that I respect and have been inspired by so much.”
“Then just finding out that she’s such a sweetheart and really kind and reserved, it’s very strange. I love that you never know what to expect from her, but you can always expect kindness and generosity,” Ortega continued.

In a four-star review of ‘Mayhem’, Nick Levine wrote for NME: “‘Mayhem’ feels like a great Gaga album because it’s just so much fun. At times, it’s a bit like reconnecting with an old friend who makes sense even when they seem to be chatting nonsense. When she sings “river in my eyes, I’ve got a poem in my throat” on ‘LoveDrug’, it’s just her overblown way of saying she’s sad and tongue-tied. Seventeen years after she broke through with ‘Just Dance’, Lady Gaga remains pop’s foremost agent of impeccably crafted chaos.”
In a four-star review of Wednesday, Alex Flood wrote for NME: “Regardless of the difficult relations, Wednesday ends up a rare spin-off success story. It’s creepy, kooky, mysterious and spooky – and an absolute treat.”
