Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Eyed For ‘Major Role’ In The MCU

Jennifer Lopez may finally be making her way to the MCU! Marvel reportedly wants the singer/actress for a major role in a new rumor.

There was a time when Jennifer Lopez was one of the biggest names on the planet. The Latin pop singer, better known by the nickname J.Lo, was a guiding hand in bringing the genre into the mainstream. While the actress kept a low profile for some time, she seems to be making a come back in a big way, releasing her ninth album This Is Me…Now last year, alongside taking starring roles in multiple big budget projects over the last few years.

Now it seems that the singer may finally be making the jump to the MCU! A new rumor from MyTimeToShineHello suggests that Marvel is considering the actress to play a major role in a future project. While no character was given as the specific one she was being considered to play, it likely wouldn’t come to fruition until the end of the Multiverse Saga and the transition into the long-awaited Mutant Saga with the X-Men.

Who Could Jennifer Lopez Play In The MCU?

Unlike most fancasting discussions, fans aren’t exactly jumping at the prospect of Jennifer Lopez potentially joining the MCU. This means that suggestions for who she could play are slim to none. Some of the few characters to be floated at La Lunatica, a Mexico-born mutant heavily associated with Spider-Man 2099, and Thundra, a warrior princess from an alternate reality ruled by people known as the Femizons.

Sadly, Marvel also doesn’t have many Puerto Rican heroines they could bring into the MCU. Perhaps the highest profile is Ava Ayala, the third White Tiger. Given Hector Ayala is already set to make his debut in Daredevil: Born Again, it’s possible that Marvel recruits Jennifer Lopez to bring the mantle to the silver screen. Aside from that, Cecilia Reyes is the only prominent Puerto Rican mutant that would fit Lopez’s profile, potentially teeing her up for a role in a future X-Men project.
