Jennifer Lopez takes over Shakira’s lyrics to hint to Ben Affleck that he will be in ‘trouble’ soon
JLo gave Shakira her Grammy Award with a message that could be directed at Ben Affleck
The 67th Grammy Awards saw Kendrick Lamar as the biggest winner with five awards, and Beyonce with the album of the year award, but before reaching the stellar part of the gala, Jennifer Lopez and Shakiragave the audience an emotional reunion after their explosive performance at the Super BowlHalftime Show in 2020.
Jennifer Lopez presented Shakira with the award for best Latin pop album, first starting with a statement that already gave a hint.
“Here’s the truth in any language: music’s biggest night only gets bigger and better when it brings us the whole world of music,” JLo said into the microphone, before launching a phrase that could be interpreted as a hint to Ben Affleck with what might await him in the future: “Women don’t cry anymore, women get paid!”
As soon as Shakira heard Jennifer Lopez, she embraced her children Sasha and Milan, whom she had during the years she was in a relationship with former Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique.
“I want to dedicate this award to all my immigrant brothers and sisters in this country. You are loved, you are worth it and I will always fight with you,” Shakira declared after being embraced by JLo, before also dedicating words to her children: “I am so proud of you, of your good hearts. Thank you so much for supporting me the way you do. I love you.”
Will Jennifer Lopez cash in with Ben Affleck?
This Grammy weekend, Jennifer Lopez was inspired by Shakira‘s lyrics. She first posted on her social networks photos of her look with which she attended Saturday’s pre-gala, and accompanied her post with the song ‘Soltera’.
And now during her award ceremony she used ‘women don’t cry anymore, women get paid’, which could continue in her healing process after the divorce from Ben Affleck and, like Shakira did with Pique, she could also dedicate thorny lyrics to the ‘Argo’ actor in her upcoming musical materials.
JLo already has songs and videos inspired by her extensive wedding experience, with her video ‘Can’t Get Enough’, with which a year ago the Bronx Diva humorously poked fun at her relationship history.
The video was released when JLo was not yet having divorce problems, but she used a lookalike of Ben Affleck, while dancing with three other boyfriends who could also be interpreted as her former husbands: Cuban Ojani Noa, choreographer Cris Judd and singer Marc Anthony
