Selena Gomez’s former friend Caroline Franklin is threatening to “expose” an anonymous major celebrity – and many netizens believe she’s referring to the Only Murders in the Building star after their alleged “feud” last year, according to a report shared by the Daily Mail.
The duo – who were friends for years – have not been seen together since July 2023, and in November 2024, Gomez unfollowed Franklin on Instagram, which seemed to confirm the end of their once-inseparable bond. It’s unclear what made them cut ties, but reports suggest that it may be due to Franklin’s avid support of Donald Trump. Gomez has previously spoken out against Trump’s policies.

On February 19, Franklin wrote on social media, per screenshots shared by the Daily Mail: “And to all the phoney celebrities who talk about human rights and feminism, but will never mention this mother and her babies … you guys are so full of s***. Performative activism at its finest.”

Before deleting the posts, Franklin added: “When I decide how and when to expose you … I will address it with the most detail and sincerity to the 10-year friendship I experienced and survived. Under oath.” Franklin even took a stab at half-Palestinian supermodel Gigi Hadid for her comments about Israel, calling her an “idiot with a pretty face”.

Apparently, Gomez doesn’t seem too bothered by the news though. “Selena is not worried about Caroline,” a source told the British tabloid. “No one is,” they added, saying Franklin’s recent behaviour “feels like attention seeking”.

Her father is Jentezen Franklin, an American evangelical pastor, author, and televangelist. He is the senior pastor of Free Chapel, a multi-site church with a “global reach” and author of numerous books including Right People, Right Place, Right Plans and The Spirit of Python. Jentezen boasts over a million followers on Instagram and his father, Billy Franklin, was also a preacher.

Her sister is married to former Magcon member Aaron Carpenter

Caroline comes from a big family. She has four siblings: Connar, Courteney, Caressa and Drake, per Us Weekly.

Caroline’s family appears to be quite close to Donald Trump, because her father served as the president’s evangelical adviser back in 2020, according to The Gainesville Times.
Caroline has made it clear that she is a Trump supporter, and even attended the president’s inauguration in January. “The best weekend celebrating President Trump’s inauguration with my Franklin fam,” her sister-in-law Jayme Leagh Franklin wrote on Instagram alongside a group pic of the clan. Caroline has also shared various photos of herself posing with Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago.
