Jimmy Kimmel Says if Will Smith Slapped Kanye West at Grammys for Wife’s Nude Look “All Would Be Forgiven”

Jimmy Kimmel is weighing in on that shocking Grammys red carpet moment.

During his opening monologue during Monday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the late night host reacted to Kanye West and wife Bianca Censori’s red carpet stunt in which she removed her coat and revealed a transparent dress that left her essentially nude on the red carpet and caused a storm ahead of Sunday’s event.

Jimmy Kimmel jokes Will Smith should’ve slapped Kanye West over Bianca Censori’s Grammys 2025 stunt

“Another rodent came out of his hole to hit the red carpet at the Grammys last night,” Kimmel said. “None other than Kanye West, who showed up to take photos — he showed up for the red carpet only — with his wife, who caused quite a stir. She was wearing nothing.”

Kimmel then quipped, “This shows you just how much times have changed. Before Trump, this would’ve been our whole monologue tonight. Now it’s, like, the ninth craziest thing that happened this weekend.”

He went on to say that there was a time when “whole country melted down” after Janet Jackson’s infamous wardrobe malfunction during her Super Bowl Halftime performance that resulted in one of her breasts being displayed on national television. But “now a completely nude woman walks the red carpet at the Grammys, they’re yelling, ‘Bianca, over here on the right! Please,’” he said.

Given that Will Smith attended Sunday night’s show to honor the late Quincy Jones during a tribute, Kimmel said, “And you know what’s a shame? All he had to do was run out on that red carpet and slap Kanye. I think all would be forgiven. He would be hosting the Oscars next year.”

Following the backlash to their headline-making appearance, West took to his Instagram to defend Censori’s look. In the now-deleted comments, West posted: “FOR CLARITY. MY WIFE IS THE MOST GOOGLED PERSON ON THE PLANET CALLED EARTH” and added “WE BEAT THE GRAMMIES.” The post was accompanied by Google analytics sceenshots showing the interest in Censori.

The look not only caused a stir online, but the mogul-rapper was accused treating his wife like a promotional object. Sources close to the couple have said the idea for the look was to replicate the album cover for West’s Vultures 1.

Censori is not expected to face any legal consequences for the see-through outfit, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The Los Angeles Police Department said on Tuesday that an investigation has not been opened.
