Several players and analysts have offered their theories on the reasons behind this slump. Recently, a social media account proposed an exciting idea to boost ratings by staging a playoff series between LeBron James’ Lakers and Stephen Curry’s Warriors.
ClutchPoints recently mentioned that games between James and Curry had been fan favourites since 2015. However, With Luka Doncic now on the Los Angeles Lakers and Jimmy Butler making waves with the Golden State Warriors, the buzz is real. Fans are absolutely pumped about the potential of an epic playoff showdown between these two powerhouses.
“Alright, NBA scriptwriters. It’s time. Since 2015, LeBron James vs Steph Curry is everybody’s favorite matchup. But it’s time to make it epic. The Lakers got Luka Doncic. The Warriors got Jimmy Butler. The fans need the Warriors-Lakers in the playoffs. Months of NBA ratings discourse can end with one playoff matchup. Whatever it takes. Make it happen.” via CltuchPoints’s recent post on X (formerly Twitter).
The Lakers currently hold the fourth spot in the Western Conference standings with a record of 34-21. Meanwhile, the Warriors are in ninth place with a record of 30-27. If both teams make it to the postseason, it would be exciting to see an NBA playoff series between the Lakers and the Warriors.
