At 40 years old, he is the oldest active player in the league. Despite his age, he continues to showcase impressive performances game after game in the ongoing 2024-25 NBA season.
James’ dominance has ignited conversations within the NBA community, with many fans and analysts considering him one of the top 10 players in the league. In a recent episode of the Run It Back Podcast on FDTV, former NBA star Chandler Parsons went a step further, stating that James is currently a Top 5 player in the NBA.
“If the season ended right now, I think he’s first-team All-NBA.I think he’s been that good. He’s put an emphasis on defense and energy. We talk about the dude all the time. It’s crazy what he’s doing if he’s 27 years old. He’s 40 years old, playing at an all-defense level.” Parsons said.
James is making notable contributions to the Lakers during the 2024-25 NBA season. He has reached several milestones this year, showcasing his outstanding performance. Recently, he climbed into the top five of the latest KIA NBA MVP Ladder, reflecting his impactful play on the court.
Colin Cowherd Raves About James’ Stellar Recent Performances
The Lakers recently made a jaw-dropping move by acquiring Luka Doncic in a blockbuster deal with the Dallas Mavericks. This created a powerful duo of Doncic and LeBron James for the Lakers, who are consistently dominating on the court. Meanwhile, NBA analyst Colin Cowherd can’t stop praising James after witnessing his recent performances.
“I have watched LeBron in the last week outplay Ant Edwards, Luka, Jokic and Kyrie Irving. He has been the best player in the NBA in the last week. His defense right now, it looks like he’s 27. It’s insane. His energy — better than Luka. His shooting right now — better than Luka. And His on-ball defense, his scoring, LeBron at 40 years old, has better consistent energy than any other Laker.” Cowherd said.
The Lakers currently sit in 3rd place in the Western Conference standings with a record of 37 wins and 21 losses. They will play their next game against the Los Angeles Clippers at Crypto.com Arena.
