The View co-host Joy Behar faced criticism from network executives after revealing personal information about colleague Sara Haines during Wednesday’s live broadcast.

During the show’s closing segment, Behar, who recently attended a Tim Walz rally and has been vocal about her distain for Donald Trump, interrupted host Whoopi Goldberg to publicly disclose a private detail about Haines’ college years, a brief same-sex relationship, while Haines’ parents were present in the studio audience.

“Are you going to bring up that lesbian relationship you said you had back at Smith [College]?” Behar asked Haines, 47, during a discussion about an upcoming episode of the show’s Behind the Table podcast.

The incident prompted visible surprise from Haines’ father, while her mother was seen smiling.
