Michael Jordan is among the best NBA players in the league’s history. Most NBA fans would argue that the former Chicago Bulls star is the best player to ever sniff the court, and there is a powerful point to make.

Jordan split his time in the NBA between the Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards. He is also one of the most decorated players of all time, winning six NBA titles during his 15-year career, not to mention that he was also in the finals during all six runs, and that’s just scratching the surface.

Since his retirement, the Space Jam star has become a successful businessman and hasn’t kept his success to one venture. Jordan is a minority owner of the Charlotte Hornets and runs a NASCAR team.

His success, however, doesn’t translate to all sports. In 2012, Jordan was banned from a golf club that charges $1 million to join, for breaking one of the weirdest and most insane rules. The rule that Jordan broke was so unexpected that it left some in shock.

Michael Jordan Broke A Really Weird Rule

“Michael Jordan did wear cargo pants. He had been there many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code. This time, he was made aware of the violation on the 12th hole, and at that point he did refuse to interrupt his game, and return to the clubhouse and change,” said a spokesperson for La Gorce Country Club in 2012.

That’s right. The best NBA player in the league’s history was banned from La Gorce Country Club, a top country club in Miami, for wearing cargo shorts. The report mentions that he was indeed asked to change but refused. The former basketball star knowingly violated the dress code, and from the comments, he had seemingly done so on numerous occasions before the banning in 2012.

La Gorce seemingly wasn’t too upset after banning the former NBA star, as they reportedly have DJ Khaled on the waitlist, which not many country clubs can claim.

Jordan’s camp responded to the whole ordeal by saying, “We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce. I guess it’s their loss – as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest.” This has to be one of the weirdest things out there.
