Tanner Buchanan and Mary Mouser finally confirmed their romance on Wednesday, Feb. 12 — but have they already taken the next step in their romance?

The Cobra Kai costars sent the rumor mill churning while on the red carpet at a series-finale event for their hit Netflix show as they pointedly held up matching rings on their left hands, leading to fan speculation that the pair might be engaged.

PEOPLE is out to reps for Buchanan and Mouser for clarification on the bling.

Buchanan, 26, and Mouser, 28, looked at each other tenderly for several snapshots and even shared a sweet kiss at one point, which was also caught on camera.

Both actors were dressed to the nines for the evening, with Buchanan in a classic suit over a lighter-colored shirt and Mouser in a shimmering minidress.

Speaking with PEOPLE at Wednesday’s event, Buchanan said that Mouser is “a hundred percent” a ride-or-die confidant for him among the Cobra Kai cast.

“But to be honest, literally everybody,” he continued. “There’s not one person that we don’t hang out with and have fun with, and we truly keep saying that we’re going to be around in each other’s lives forever. I don’t know how to explain it.”

“It’s just really crazy, weird, cool family connection that we’ve built over the past seven and a half years, and none of us are ever not going to be in each other’s lives,” Buchanan added.

After Cobra Kai debuted on YouTube in 2018, the drama made its way onto Netflix in 2020 and has grown a fiercer fanbase since. In 2023, creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg announced that season 6 of Cobra Kai would be the show’s last.

Buchanan told PEOPLE on Wednesday that the cast’s final days on set were “always tear-filled,” and his included him “very ugly crying” by the end of the day.

“I’d woken up about three hours before I was supposed to be on set and laid in bed and was staring at the ceiling, and as soon as I got up to get ready, I just started crying and then had to pull it together,” he recalled. “I was like, ‘Nope, nope. Got to hold it together until the end of the day.’ “

As for whether he’d ever revisit the Karate Kid franchise and its legacy that has been extended by Cobra Kai, Buchanan said, “You never know, but I hope so.”

“I would love nothing more that if they gave me the call,” he continued. “If they told me right now we’re going back in a few months, I’d be like, ‘Great, let’s go. Let’s just do it.’ And I hope we do get to revisit these characters later down the line at some point.”

Cobra Kai‘s final episodes are now streaming on Netflix.
