LOS ANGELES LAKERS superstar LeBron James suffered a devastating groin injury against the Boston Celtics.

The Lakers saw their eight-game winning streak coming to an end on Saturday against the Celtics at the TD Garden where they lost 111-101.

But Los Angeles lost more than just the game and were dealt a major blow to their playoff hopes.

LA saw James, 40, hobble off the floor with 6:44 remaining in the fourth quarter due to a left groin strain.

The power forward claimed the injury occurred when he pivoted around Celtics ace Jaylen Brown to score in the lane.

According to ESPN, it’s too early to project an accurate timetable for how long LeBron could be out.

King James first needs to undergo medical tests to determine the full extent of his injury.

However, the same source suggests the initial thought is that the injury will sideline the NBA star for weeks, instead of just days.

The ex-Cleveland Cavaliers ace, though, downplayed the injury after the final whistle.

The former Miami Heat star said there was “not much concern” and vowed to “go day to day” in treating it.

James said after the match: “Maybe extended it a little bit too much.”

He added: “I’ve been there before, and I know what type of injury you’re dealing with.

“I looked at the score. I was like, ‘Oh s***,’”. Those are moments you live for, especially in a game like this, not being out there.

“So I was cheering on the guys while I was back here [in the locker room].”

James finished the game for the Lakers with 22 points on 11-for-23 shooting (0-for-6 from 3) with 14 rebounds and 9 assists.
