Unbelievable: Sean Lowe – ‘The Bachelor’ Star Attacked Twice by His Dog!

Sean Lowe, a longtime fan-favorite of “The Bachelor” franchise, said he was brutally attacked by his own dog twice last week.

In a video posted to Instagram on Monday, Lowe said his dog Moose – a 7-year-old Boxer that has been with the family for three months – attacked him two days in a row.

Lowe said the first attack happened on Thursday while he had friends over for a barbecue. He said smoke from the grill got inside his home, setting off a smoke alarm.

Lowe said he grabbed a towel to waft the smoke away from the alarm, and Moose came up to bite his finger.

“The Bachelor” star said he gave the dog a firm “no,” but then Moose started biting his feet.

“At this point, there’s so much chaos with the alarm going off, I give him a very stern, ‘NO. NO.’ And it was right about that moment where he shows his teeth at me and just attacks me,” Lowe said.

Lowe said he could feel Moose “rip into the flesh of my arm.”

Eventually, Lowe was able to get the dog into the backyard, but the dog bolted back through the door and attacked Lowe a second time.

“I’m not trying to be dramatic, but I honestly felt like I was fighting for my life against a dog. Well, not just a dog. My dog. He is MY dog … I walk him. If I run errands, he goes in the truck with me. All he’s ever wanted was affection,” Lowe said.

The attack left wounds so deep on Lowe’s arm that there was a “literal pool of blood on the floor” and blood squirting “a couple feet.”

Lowe’s friends corralled Moose to the backyard and rushed Lowe to the ER. While sitting at the hospital, Lowe tried to come to terms with what just happened.

“I’m confused, I’m heartbroken, but I know with what just transpired, obviously I can’t keep Moose in this house. I’ve got young kids,” he said.

The next morning, the family spoke with local animal control and with the adoption agency where they got Moose to decide what to do next.

Lowe said his parents offered to come take the kids from the house, and while they were picking them up, Moose broke through an unlocked door and once again violently attacked Lowe.

In the second attack, Lowe said Moose tore up his opposite arm, and he managed to pin the dog down and lie on top of him until police arrived.

First responders came and took the dog, and Lowe once again went to the ER for more stitches.

“Overall, I’m super thankful it was me, and it was not my kids or my wife,” he said.

Even through two attacks, Lowe said he doesn’t blame Moose.

“And I don’t blame Moose a bit … It wasn’t Moose’s fault. He, I think it’s clear, experienced a lot of trauma before we got him. And had something neurologically wrong with him where just a switch flipped, and he turned into an absolute killer. Which was so weird … He was great around my kids, he was great in the house, he was an affectionate, lovable Boxer. We love Boxers,” he said.

Lowe also said he doesn’t blame the rescue group either, who he said was also unaware of the dog’s past trauma.

“There’s a lot of great dogs that need to be adopted, and I’m certainly an advocate for that,” he said.

Ultimately, Lowe said the attacks made him “so thankful for my family,” and that they are trying to reconcile with the fact that they no longer have Moose.

“We’re torn up about it. We really are,” he said. “We miss our dog, as weird as that sounds. He was a really good dog. And we miss him.”

Lowe was the star of season 17 of “The Bachelor,” which aired in 2013. He found his wife, Catherine, on the show, and the couple went on to have three children together.
