Ben Affleck makes the most of Jennifer Lopez heartbreak to thrill fans with an unexpected treat

After a challenging start to 2025, it appears that Ben Affleck has rediscovered his groove. The veteran actor-producer has been hard at work on several exciting projects amid his divorce from Jennifer Lopez, and fans were excited to see Affleck deliver well-received Dunkin Donuts ads during Super Bowl LIX.

Affleck and Lopez finalized their divorce in January as wildfires raged around the Los Angeles area. Amid rumors that Lopez could soon begin a romance with Kevin Costner, Affleck has been linked with Jessica Alba in “response”…but the “Argo” auteur’s latest venture has fans salivating and soon rushing to theaters.

Affleck shines in “Accountant 2” trailer

On Thursday, the first trailer for “The Accountant 2” was released, nearly a decade after the series’ first film hit cinemas nationwide. In this thriller, Affleck will reprise his role as forensic accountant Christian Wolff, trying to solve the murder of a treasury agent, and he will be joined once more by Jon Bernthal, portraying Christian‘s brother Brax.

Artists Equity, the production company founded by Affleck and Matt Damon, is producing the film, which will arrive in theaters on April 25 after premiering at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas. The highly-anticipated sequel comes off the back of the original “Accountant” film’s strong performance in theaters, where it grossed $155 million against a $44 million budget.

With Affleck’s Super Bowl ads received well, “The Accountant 2” could mark the start of a mid-2020s renaissance for the 52-year-old, who appears to be moving on from the heartbreak of his marriage to Lopez in a decisive way.
