Jennifer Lopez is joined by Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein in upcoming Netflix film Office Romance – and is said to find her co-star ‘very cute’ while he’s openly spoken of his love for her before

Jennifer Lopez is working on a new Netflix romcom with a British star, and fans think that he might be her new man.

JLo is now single again, after her the finalisation of her divorce from Ben Affleck. Ben, 52, and JLo, 55, tied the knot in 2022 – decades after getting engaged to her for the first time in 2002. Unfortunately history repeated itself and they once again drifted apart, separating in April 2024 before filing for divorce that August.

Now, the Jenny from the Block star has been cast in upcoming film Office Romance, with her love interest played by Ted Lasso actor Brett Goldstein, 44 – who also co-wrote the romantic comedy. JLo and Brett were recently spotted together in New York to watch the Broadway play Oh, Mary, and even snapped a behind the scenes photo with the cast.

According to an insider, JLo was more than happy to play Brett’s love interest in his new film. “Jennifer can’t wait to start a new project and it certainly helps that she will be working with a very handsome and smart star like Brett,” they told the Daily Mail.

They added that he’s “like the younger, better, British version of Ben,” and even said that JLo finds him “very cute.” The source said that JLo’s casting would serve as a timely reminder to Ben that JLo is still beautiful and in demand as a leading lady, which would “make her feel great.”

“Ben knows who Brett is, he is plenty aware. Brett is younger and smarter than Ben. It will irk him for sure,” they added while assessing JLo’s on-screen romance.

While an insider said that JLo finds Brett cute, he’s made no secret of his admiration for the actress in the past. Brett spoke about her film Hustlers during an episode of his podcast Films To Be Buried With, and gushed over her talents. Alongside describing the movie as “really good on every level,” he exclaimed of JLo: “F**king hell! 50! She’s 50! I love her!”

He also described his favourite scene in the film, and hinted he wouldn’t mind getting closer to Jennifer. “There’s a scene on the roof, she’s sat in her big fur coat, and the girl, the new girl comes up and she’s shy, and Jennifer Lopez gives her a cuddle in a big fur coat, that puts between her legs, like cuddles her, and I thought, ‘I’d never wanted to be cuddled more.’ Like that is one of the best cuddles,” he said.

Considering Brett’s clear admiration of JLo, fans have suggested he manifested their new film together, and might take the opportunity to find real-life romance. “Imagine writing a fanfic where your crush falls in love with you and that said crush accepts to play the role… Brett needs to give me tips on how he manifests fr,” one person said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
